Safety for rail passengers

ASE specialises in innovative measurement systems for ensuring on-board safety in rail transport. CHECKPOINT, the train data recording and safety system which includes sensor components, analytical electronics and data processing, detects:

• Train data (speed, acceleration, direction of travel, number of axles, locomotive and carriage types etc.)
• Clearance profile of train (extended or protruding truck antennae in ROLA traffic (‘rolling highway’), loose covers, open doors)
• Fires
• Overriding of buffers

The open interfaces allow the integration of familiar sensor systems, e.g.

• Hot box detectors
• Parking brake detectors
• Weighing equipment
