Video surveillance at OEBB / Austrian Railway

After a short test phase the traffic stations of the rapid-transit railway line S7 to the Viennese airport were equipped in 2002 with video cameras and were integrated into the regional control stations.

Here lies the competence for the emergency handling. The operators in the RLS get the video pictures above the operating surface of the process control system MAS-3002 presented and do not need to work with several systems.
The pictures occurs on the video wall automatically with entrance of an emergency call. The events are archived in the company data management bank and can so be available also later.

From 2006 the installation of the video surveillance was accelerated to have grasped the most important traffic stations in the venues of the football European championship.

Up to May, 2010 , 128 traffic stations were included in the video surveillance. More than 3200 analogous cameras and network cameras were installed there and integrated into the process control systems MAS-3002 in 4 regional control stations.

Beside a bigger security feeling of the customers the equipment with the ASE – video technology also led to decrease the vandalism – and burglary damages. Because the technology has proved itself, the enlargement was continued till this day.
