Security in traffic:
Video surveillance at Brettfalltunnel Tyrol, Austria

In cooperation with Siemens AG Innsbruck and the land Tyrol the existing video surveillance system at Brettfall tunnel, entrance Zillertal, was extended in autumn 2015. Now, further 14 day/night cameras supervise the entrance ways to the tunnel (north and south main entrance ) and provide for more security in the traffic. Furthermore a support of the early diagnosis of traffic jam and an improved traffic management at block admission is guaranteed with it.
The captured picture or video data are stored on site on a high-capacity server of the company Geutebrück. In addition, the alarm pictures are transferred via decentral servers to the control station “Tyrol, Innsbruck” where tunnel operators can observe the traffic events with the help of the pictures and if necessary influence.
Besides, the data will be transferred via the network MPLS of A1 Telekom by using a VPN tunnel

In addition, all pictures are available for the control station Tyrol, so they can be able to react as quickly as possible when traffic accidents occure.
