A main focus of the event were the increasing demands on intermodal goods traffic and suitable solution for an optimised process, as for example shortening of transshipment time, automation of sequence control between the different modes of transport, application of operational control systems, protection and detection concepts, and more.

An excursion to the “Rhein-Neckar-Hafengesellschaft Mannheim” formed the end of the event. The participants could inspect the number recognition system NUMBERCheck in the area "commercial harbour". Afterwards, Mr. Schreiner - railway manager of the HGM -explained the function of the automatic billing system TrAbSy, which is based on NUMBERCheck, in the HGM office rooms on the 12th floor – with dreamlike look at the Rhine.

The single lectures have inspired to active exchange of ideas and dialogues among the interested participants, so that we can look back at a successful event.
